Edifier NeoBuds Planar Review: Sound Quality Stands Apart

NeoBuds Planar Review!

I'm a NUT for that planar punch! I'm still concerned about the longevity of EXPENSIVE true wireless earbuds, but if we're going to take TWS more seriously, we need to see more options in the premium space. Sound quality doesn't necessarily improve with a more expensive earbud, but we should see competition that delivers more specific tuning and presentation.

No one stumbles on Edifier by accident. This is something unique.

Shokz OpenMeet UC Wireless Headset Review: Never seen bone conduction like this...

Shokz OpenMeet UC review!

I love bone conduction headsets. They serve a unique role for folks who like keeping their ears open, cool, and uncovered. There's a general shape and build on these headsets, which we've seen refined over YEARS of using different products. It's exciting to see a wildly fresh take on a business headset from a brand known for making sport headphones.

The OpenMeet UC are unlike anything I've seen before...

H2O Audio Tri 2 Pro Bone Conduction Headphones: TOO Sporty for Me?

H2O Audio Review!

I'm a BIG fan of bone conduction headphones, but even these might be a bit above my pay grade! You've got to build audio to a different level to cater to folks competing in triathlons. For someone how takes casual hikes out in the hills, I'm definitely not working this headset as hard as it can go.

For the folks who NEED that kind of capability though, I think they're in for a treat...

Edifier Stax Spirit S5 Review: Planar Magnetic Headphones are SO tasty!

Edifier Stax S5 review!

They're pricey, but they're fantastic. I love how a planar driver produces sound, and I'm excited to see more and more consumer focused options with closed back designs. Edifier lacks ONE feature for broad consumer adoption, but we can't fault the sound quality here.

This is a wonderful consumer headphone.

OnePlus Buds Pro 3 Review: Absolute BANGERS!

OnePlus Buds Pro 3 review!

Top tier earbuds. Full stop. These are feature complete, high quality audio gadgets, that go toe-to-toe with all the top consumer brands. They might COST less than AirPods, but don't think that means they're "less good".

Here's a quick look!

Audeze Maxwell Review: A Fantastic Headphone Makes for a GREAT Gaming Headset!

Audeze Maxwell long term review!

I LOVE planar magnetic headphones, and I've been a long-time fan of Audeze. Maxwell has been out for a little while now, and taking a good long listen, I think I FINALLY have a replacement for my Mobius gaming headset.

Maxwell is something special...

1More Sonoflow Pro Review: Two Small Upgrades CHANGE EVERYTHING!

Sonoflow Pro review!

This headphone is NOT a radical redesign of the previous Sonoflow cans. This is very much a "refinement" product, but a couple small tweaks deliver some NICE quality of life improvements. Better still, 1More is launching this headphone at a LOWER price.

Let's take a look!

Charting the $480 billion US spectrum giveaway

A story out of Ars Technica,
I can't say I'm surprised that our federal government would practically give away air worth billions of dollars. They've demonstrated time and again, that they have no working knowledge of, do not value, and seem to fear anything remotely "techie".
A report on spectrum lobbying from the New America Foundation argues that the FCC has given away up to $480 billion in spectrum rights since 1993. Here's how taxpayers are being cheated.

"The giveaway that Snider's talking about isn't a massive grant of free spectrum to corporate interests; instead, it's something much more subtle and far more difficult for the public to understand. To understand why Snider considers this a "giveaway," let's first look at the difference between the amount of money the government has actually received for licenses since 1993 and the amount of money that such licenses are worth."

Here's hoping a good chunk of air goes to Google in 2009....

Hopefully these are "Teh Awesome"! BT Headset Edition!

So, I've been wanting some BT Headphones for a while now, but I haven't seen anything that comes even remotely close to the way I like to listen to music.Their big, or too bulky, or have funky looking controls, and so far all BT headphones have rested on the ears. None have the inner-aural design of my beloved Sennheiser CX300's. Realistically, I just want a BT receiver that I can plug my OWN headphones into, and I'll stick with the CX's ...

... but if I can't have that then these Pulsar 260's from Plantronics will just have to do.

I'm currently using the Plantronics Discovery 640 headset, and I really like their gear. At $90, I could totally go for these Pulsars.
