Jonathan Ross to Work for FREE in Halo 3???

NO!
Bad Voice over actor! BAD!!!

I have a hard enough time convincing people that video game VO is worth more than scale, and here comes an established animation actor GIVING IT AWAY FOR FREE!?!?!

"British chat-show host Jonathan Ross is reported to be a big videogames fan, especially of the halo variety, and as such is voicing one of the bad guys in upcoming blockbuster title Halo 3.
Bungie have kept the alien's details under wraps, but it is understood
that the showbiz star - who is under contract with the BBC until 2010
with an £18 million contract - is to lend his voicing talents
for free."

Though I kinda love this pic of him. Like he's already apologizing to me for being such a punk.

PUNK!

So we WILL be seeing Shrek 4 &5 then?

Straight outta the LA Times,

"Shrek the Third" MADE SOME MONEY for Dreamworks. Even though I wasn't that positive on it (like anyone cares what I think), apparently it pulled in a $60 million profit for the studio.

'Shrek' lifts DreamWorks Animation

"The Glendale-based studio said it had net income of $61.8 million for
the three months ended June 30, or 60 cents a share, compared with net
income of $13.7 million, or 13 cents, in the same period last year.

Revenue soared to $222.5 million, compared with $74.9 million a year earlier."

Shrek 3 ... It's just OK ...

So Yeah, we saw it last night, and yeah, it is just OK.
It's definitely cute, but it ultimately doesn't stand up to Shrek 2, which I thought was a great film.
The characters thinly written, and the acting is a little flat. Most disappointing to me was Mike Meyers himself. Totally phoned in, I was expecting him to lead this film, when instead he was the laziest of the bunch.
While the princesses were under used, at least it sounded like they were having fun. Justin Timberlake is a horrible voice talent, and he should stick to singing. Eric Idle was OK, but not great (come on he was in the original Transformers Movie). John Cleese (who dies in the very begining), Antonio Banderas, and Eddie Murphy totally steal every scene they are in. The movie is worth watching just for them.

Now I'm just waiting to see what Bay does to my precious Transformers.
[Sigh]
I'm just glad it's not another trilogy...

The Princesses of Shrek 3

And boy are they funny!

A fun little article out of the Washington Post, where the four "Princesses" of Shrek 3 were supposed to be interviewed by William Booth, but with Maya Rudolph, Amy Poehler, Cheri Oteri, and Amy Sedaris (my fave) all in the same room, Billy-Boy didn't stand a chance.

Really they're supposed to be talking about their voice work in the film, but not much really gets accomplished, and Bill ends up just transcribing his recordings of the "interview". Still, it is a fun read from four very funny women totally taking a piss.

"You're such a guy," Poehler says, looking at your correspondent.

"You'll always find what you're looking for," Sedaris says.

"And Bill found porn," Rudolph says.

"Animated porn," Oteri chirps. "The best kind."

This goes on for a while.

Okay, so what is the movie, which is, of course, totally harmless and rated G, about?

"About 90 minutes," Rudolph says."

Not too shabby...
