Cool Press For 'Voice-Over Voice Actor'

I'm so proud of my friends.

Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Platt are two of my favorite people on the planet.
I was incredibly proud of them when they finished their book 'Voice-Over Voice Actor: What It's Like Behind The Mic'. It was an amazing accomplishment all on it's own, but seeing it not only in print, but for sale (and getting rave reviews) really warms the heart.

Yuri and Tara recently did an interview and a couple tutorials for, and I can't think of any two people more qualified to give advice on VO.

Here's Yuri's interview with Jenelle Riley:

And here's part one of Yuri and Tara's VO behind the scenes:

For more info on Voice-Over Voice Actor you can head over to to pick up your copy, and you can also catch my review of the book here on SomeAudioGuy (spoiler alert, I liked it).

  1. When I was a kid I would always want to dubbed the voice of Princess Ariel in the Disney Movie "The Little Mermaid" I watched that movie over and over so that I can memorize her lines and I would mimic her voice too. It is really cool. If were given a chance I would like my voice be used for the voice of Neytiri. She's the girl from avatar. Thank you for sharing this post.

  2. Hey Kay!
I can easily say that Voice Over is the best job in the world.
    Thanks for the comment!

  3. I agree, Voice Over is the coolest and the and a very promising job. Imagine how you'll give life to a movie, a show or even to an animation. By the way, I enjoyed the interview with Yuri. I love those type of movies. Now I'll be running to video shops to rent some dvds :)

  4. I think doing voice over is the coolest! You get to be whoever you wanna be. Too bad I don't have the talent for it.

  5. I agree. I'd like to do something like this but I don't have the talent. Congratulations to Yuri and Tara.

  6. I think it is real cool how you do voice overs. Can't do that personally myself....

  7. Voice dubbing is a great job! I would love to do that! I hope I can do that someday!
