Review: Blue Microphones' Spark Large Diaphragm Condenser Mic

The entry level microphone market is pretty cut throat.
There are many genuinely good options between $100 and $300. Blue Microphones certainly wont make your task choosing any easier, as they're partly responsible for giving us so many good options. However the one area where your selection quandaries are easily answered is style. Blue delivers THAT in spades...

  1. Great review man! I'm not going to lie - I'm extremely surprised with how non-hyped and non-bright the mic sounded. Most microphones in this price range are very good at producing shrill highs and overly-hyped low mids. The Spark, however, was extremely tame and soft. A little colored but in a good way. I agree that the voltage button would probably have zero use when recording voice over - but hey, it's an additional feature, right?

Love your video reviews AND that you actually record the review with mic being reviewed. :)

    1. Thanks Jordan.
I just think it's silly watching a ten minute review of a mic and they only end up using the mic for a minute of that.

  3. Sweet! I'm thinking of starting a podcast with a friend, maybe next year, and this sounds like a good investment for a couple of beginners ^_^
