Video Rant - "Urgent" Does Not Mean "Talk Super Fast"

Let's discuss "urgency"...

  1. As always, thanks for the tip. I bet if you had a huge phone in your hands, it would make your hands look smaller. ;)

    1. LOL! I was using Enormo-Phone to shoot the video...

  2. Another great tip... and to add just a couple of other adjectives... urgency should usually be delivered slower and more deliberately. Sometimes a bit hushed. It sounds counter-intuitive. But "Some Audio Guy" and I can assure you 9 out of 10 times it is the correct approach.

    1. Counter-intuitive, huh? It might indeed sound that way, but I think that indicative of the kind of misleading preconception that people let drive their choices without really giving it much thought.

  3. I love it when we can go into the ideal world and read the ideal copy that actually allows a bit of room for such important inflection such as urgency. I would like a vid on how to get the urgency inflection (and others) in when your 30 sec copy is 40 sec long. Ugh! Sorry, I've had a day of over-extended copy where inflection was killed over and over again. But, in principle, I agree with what you said. BTW, I didn't think your hands looked really big in your video. To me your head looked really small. Truth is so fickle. : )
